Adventure sports refer to performing activities that have a certain amount of thrill and danger involved. Skiing, mountaineering, bungee jumping have garnered a huge number of followers and are practiced all across the globe. Although not very familiar with this particular genre of sports, India is still the 2nd most populous country in the world and its various natural resources make it an interesting getaway for adventure sport enthusiasts. Here is a list of the top 6 great places in India for adventure sports:

Paragliding

Paragliding is a relatively new sport in India. The major paragliding sites in India are Billing, Kullu, Solang, Lahaul & Spiti(all in Himachal), Naukutchiyatal, Dayara Bugyal, Dhanolti Ridge, Bedni Bugyal (all in Uttarakhand), Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner (all in Rajasthan), Matheran, Deolali, Mahabaleshwar (all in Maharashtra). The flying season spans September to December and then March to June.

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing in India assumed the shape of a popular sport nearly a decade ago. Though rock faces, ideal for rock climbing, can be found in many marts of the country, the Aravali range, Western Ghats, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka provide some of the best climbing faces. Places like Dumdama, Manali and Rohtang Pass are quite popular among rock climbers. The best season for this tricky and risky activity is between October and February.

White water rafting

Bungee Jumping

Bungee Jumping is an exciting and thrilling water sport that is a must for all ages, but before you go on an adventure. It is an ill-advised sport for the faint hearted.
